The project was designed and built on speculation with an investment partner. The exaggerated horizontality provides a contrast to the Black Mountain context and anchors the massing into natural terraces of the topography. Overlapping triangles of the plan expressed with crisp edges and sharp cantilevers, are a counterpoint to the soft curvature of an adjacent project designed prior. The project is structural masonry and steel, with striated stone cladding to further emphasize the horizontal and suggests conceptual directionality to the city views.
